Getting paid double to ride on a boat? Sure! How's everyone else doing?

Terrible. That’s how I’m doing. I thought I had finally met someone; today she decided she wasn’t interested.

SPENT ANOTHER EIGHT HOURS IN THE GODDAMN SENTRA.
Nah, I’m good, I decided NOT to drive it through the flooded interstate but that’s mostly because insurance is kind of a pain. Some people definitely totaled some cars today though.

What have you done to anger the car rental companies? You need to see if your employer will upgrade you to premium cars or something.
Also, feel you on the driving through flooded streets. This happened in about half an hour the other day. Insurance would 100% be a pain if you sank a car.

I can usually sweet talk my way into something nicer at Enterprise but their prices were more than double for this trip, so I ended up with a less favorable company . I reserved a compact with Enterprise a month or so ago and ended up with an Impala because I gave an honest opinion about Versas . (Then I drove it 1500 miles in 3 days so I probably ruined any future goodwill).
I had a Veloster in Phoenix last week and I enjoyed that car quite a lot.

I was up for 24 hours for work, slept three, then was up for a long day at work, then drove 5 hours. I slept in Saturday, then started working again (remotely) so I could spend the evening and this morning with my family. I’ll be heading back to Houston this afternoon to get ready for another week of work.

Par for the course. On the way back to Houston, the checkpoint was backed up over a mile and I caught a major accident. Really, it was two big accidents. The first happened at the end of a bridge, the second was one bonehead plowing into someone as traffic came to a stop for the first wreck. There were three ambulances, multiple highway patrol and a fire truck. I was only about half a mile back from that one so the delay wasn’t too bad. I don’t think anyone was seriously hurt. I think they just got a bit overzealous in their response.
